一九三七年，国共合作，国民党国防委员 会迫于国内外压力同意释放中共政治犯。 八路军某部副连长缑奎奉命率部前往山西 运城，迎接被释放的九名地下党同志。由 于战事紧张，缑奎所属八路军师部提前开 赴平型关，缑奎只好带领这支老弱病残的 队伍一路北上寻找部队。而不为大家所知 的是，这支队伍中一位地下党领导同志曾 在河南许昌潜伏于中统机关，有可能接触 过中统现今潜伏在延安的高级特工。中统 为保护特工安全，派出别动队沿途追击。 缑奎率八路军战士和地下党同志密切合作 几度化险为夷，但事情的发展却愈加蹊跷 。
